Green bites back

Nintendo and Microsoft found themselves in a rather unenviable position today as a review of the world’s most (and least) eco-friendly electronics firms was released by Greenpeace.
Both Nintendo and Microsoft found themselves miserably trailing behind the likes of Sony, with Nintendo only able to acheive the dismal score of one point. With the majority of the IT industry’s marketing efforts turning “green” last year, this result definitely isn’t something Nintendo and Microsoft will be wanting to shout about.
The annual guide has, in fact, seen most companies’ rankings plummet this year as guidelines have been stepped up. A Greenpeace spokesperson even went so far as to comment, “We see companies scoring zero on all energy criteria,” - ouch.
Nintendo’s PR team pointed out that, “Nintendo decided not to take part in the survey”. Greenpeace, obviously, disagreed.
