Online Media & Marketing Show

After fighting through the usual London commuters on a hot June morning, I finally arrived at the Online Media & Marketing Show hosted by New Media Age magazine.  As you can imagine, the show was full of Europe’s leading businesses within the digital media space, including my client Affiliate Window. The hot topics for the show were social media, search engine optimisation and the online vs. offline debate, all be discussed through numerous workshops and seminars.

What really got me thinking at the show was the design of some stands. This is the prime opportunity to get the brand and messaging across to some of the most influential people and prospects all in the same room and I’m not sure how many really seized this opportunity. For example, there were two young attractive ladies walking around in England football kits – why? a) what has it got to do with what that business does; and b) isn’t it just reminding people that England aren’t in the Euro 2008? One exhibitor that got it spot-on for creativity and messaging, in my opinion, was Steak. It was clever, stood out, well manned and got people talking – the perfect stand.
