One month at Berkeley PR

As the week hurtles on, it brings me to the end of my first month working for Berkeley PR. I’m a trainee Account Executive, which is a role which I feel very lucky to have, especially considering the popularity of public relations as a career choice amongst graduates. Without wanting sound like an advert for Berkeley PR, this role has so far offered me everything I could want in a job.
Firstly, the training I have received, despite only having been working for a month, has been fantastic. The training sessions have covered topics from press release writing to lateral thinking, and have been very useful. There has even been a session on time management skills.
Having an interest in technology and gadgets, it made sense for me to try to find work in a technology PR agency, and Berkeley PR hasn’t let me down in that respect. During the first couple of weeks, my brain felt like it was melting (but in a good way), due to the all the clients and clients’ products I had to get to grips with. I have found learning about new technologies and concepts an interesting experience. It definitely beats doing the PR for something like food or fashion.
As well as giving me enough training and work, the atmosphere in Berkeley PR has helped me fit comfortably into my new role. The mood in the office is generally fairly relaxed but hard working, and there have been plenty of socials organised by Berkeley, with the promise of more to come. At the moment I genuinely look forward to going to work every day, and I have a hunch that with Berkeley PR that situation is not going to change any time soon.
