Is everything PR-able?

Sometimes when I am scanning the daily paper, watching the television or trawling the web, I will come across a story and think ‘blooming heck, what would be the PR angle for that?’
Exhibit A - While I was reading The Independent last week I stumbled upon an article launching a nudist hiking trail in Germany. Quite a funny story but if the people behind this was a client how would you make sure that you generated the right exposure? (sorry for the dreadful pun but I couldn’t resist)
During lunch, I decided to do my own mini creative forum to brainstorm a few ideas about how I would approach working with this unusual client:
· Press release: Draft a press release for the national media around the world, travel magazines and specialist nudist titles.
· Viewpoint: The health benefits of naturism, potentially creating some sort of myth that nudity reduces your chances of cancer – those stories always seem to make the front page of the Mail.
· Sponsorship: If the only items of clothing that the hikers can wear are socks and walking boots, there have to be some sponsorship opportunities with the boot manufacturers.
· Press trip – I’m not sure how easy this would be to arrange as I’ve never looked into the willingness of journalists to take their clothes off – but, it is worth a shot.
Does anyone else have any ideas or does it not bare (sorry again) thinking about?

Hannah,
So PR firms also use the naked truth!
